Day 26: The Privilege of Righteousness

Reflect On: Psalm 17

“As for me, I shall behold you face in righteousness; when I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness”

Psalm 17 is about deliverance from persecution.  many Christians face real persecution from enemies hostile to the Gospel of grace. But sometimes the greatest persecution is self-inflicted.  Satan wants to keep the believer bound to guilt and shame. Are you holding on to your past like an enemy of the Gospel of grace?

Those who are in Christ have a wonderful privilege.  The Christian is made righteous through the amazing sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Because of His blood we are able to have an experience of the Psalmist who beholds the face of God in righteousness each morning, satisfied in seeing God’s likeness.  Those who find their identity in the righteousness of Christ no longer have to see the guilt and shame of their past.  The grace of God covers our sinned God sees us as righteous children who have the great capacity to reflect His likeness.

When you look into the mirror today, see the righteousness of Christ won’t you? When you pray today, will you pray as a child who beholds the face of our heavenly Father each morning?  I hope you will.

What is a Faith Promise?  Glad you asked!

Just as a missionary is called to the mission field so also are those who partner with them through regular prayers and gifts.  A Faith Promise is the amount of money a ministry partner promises to give to a ministry out of obedience to the leading of Holy Spirit.  It is an amount of money missionaries can count on each month from a specific ministry partner.  Missionaries like us cannot step onto the mission field of their calling without the faith promises of God’s people  who partner to send them. Missionaries cannot go without being sent!
